The Big Bear Chamber of Commerce was established in 1947. It has a fifteen-member Board of Directors voted in by the membership for a two-year term. Within the Board is the Executive Committee, which is responsible for Economic Development, Governmental Affairs, Finance, Membership and Special Projects, and Communications.
COMMITTEE MISSIONS
Economic Develpment: To collaborate with valley representatives to achieve economic stability and prosperity to preserve and enhance the quality of life and environment in the Big Bear Valley.
Government Affairs: To continue to build relationships of mutual respect, to monitor and proactively influence the local business community and government agencies at all levels, to be favorable to the economic vitality of the Big Bear Valley.
Finance: To maintain and enhance an acceptable Chamber financial condition including fiscally responsible money management to provide support for member programs.
Membership: To develop and maintain member programs to attract new members, increase membership retention and satisfaction by addressing the specific needs of all members.
Special Projects: To assist with all special events, including the promotion of such events.
Communications: To enhance and maintain the overall image of the Chamber and to communicate the value of the Chamber's actions to the public and its members. |
